Aware Bear Computers has reviewed the new Toshiba L305 laptop series and compared with other top brands with similar specs and came up with good conclusions.
First and foremost, Toshiba laptops in general are some of the favorites among Aware Bear on-site technicians. “They are reliable, that’s the bottom line, most of the models introduced by Toshiba since the mid 1980’s have been trustworthy, they are one of the first companies to make laptops, they specialize in laptops, they are affordable and most of our customers who have Toshibas never have hardware problem with them, unless one of their dogs decides to chew the power cord or something like that” says owner Andre Leite Alves.
Being a repair service company and not retail, AwareBear Computers is pretty neutral when it comes to computers however when customers ask for their opinion on what brands of laptops they should get, the Toshibas are often referred as being some of the best for their money.
“The L305 Series is still fairly new and only time will tell if there is any major issues with it however we can tell you right now, we are really excited about this new model, it looks nice, it works fine, its fast and it sure does helps us when we are on-site on a service call” says Greece manager Vinny.
Even though so far so good, AwareBear Computers reminds anyone interested into purchasing the new L305 series of regular maintenance and extra care any laptop needs. “Something that people do not realize is that fact that laptops are fragile and they do require extra care, to tell you the truth so do PC’s, the same way you have to change your car oil, and do a check up once in a while, computers are the same way, they don’t just keep running for ever and ever” says Arthur Leite. Regular check-ups will prolongate the life of your laptop no matter what it is.
Some of these steps include:
1. Make sure you do not leave the power chord connected on at al times because it is bad for your battery. If you do use your laptop on a single location, remove the battery and leave it plugged in on the chord alone, or if you want to leave the battery in, remove the power chord when the battery is fully charged.
2. Take the power chord off if you are going to place it in a bag, or if you are moving the laptop to avoid the A/C jack from breaking. “You will not believe how many people break their A/C jacks on their computers just by being careless” says Andre Leite Alves, Owner of AwareBear Computers.
3. Do not eat or drink near a laptop because accidents do happened. “No body wants accidents to happened, but by keeping food and drink away, you can reduce the chance of a spill on a laptop upwards to 100%” says Arthur Leite, creative at Aware Bear Computers.
4. Make sure you do not smoke near the computer, cigarette gunk will build up and that will really cause hardware problems in the future. “There was this one case a customer of ours had a laptop for 6 months and fan died. Once we opened the laptop we noticed the reason the fan died was that it was filled with cigarette gunk. ”
Many preventative steps can be taken in order to optimize the life of your laptop no matter what it is. In terms of The Toshiba, L305 we recommend them, ultimately as long as you take good care of it, you shouldn’t have any problems.
