Clippers' poor performance in the fourth quarter during the last game against Orlando threw up some inevitable results - 1) The Clippers lost the game, and 2) The Clippers slipped to a 4-17 record. Neither of these possibilities were acceptable by the Clippers' management. At least, this was a game that was there for the taking. The Clippers had absolutely dominated proceedings in the first three quarters, only to slip up in the final one, surrendering the game.

It is then that the Clippers decided to get back to some old talent, whose game the Clippers knew well. Up came the name of Darius Miles, a player who had played with the Clippers as a forward not too long ago. Then, a spate of injuries and a run-in with Coach Maurice Cheeks cut short his career with the Clippers. One thing though is sure - With Millers at the helm of the forward line, games like the one against Orlando would surely not be repeated.

With this kind of reputation to boast of, Darius Miles definitely was being eyed by other teams. He had almost ended up landing a spot with the Clevelands. Seeing that they had enough, the Clippers' management invited Miles to have a practice session with their team. For most, a rejection by Miles was a sure shot possibility. Why not, as Miles just about got evicted from the team for running in against coach, Maurice Cheeks then?

Will this offer of burying the hatchet go down well with Miles? Will he pick up the gauntlet and do something most felt was unthinkable? In fact, as days of suspense rolled by, Miles finally turned up for the practice session with the Clippers. This almost put on end for the bite-hungry press who were following every action of Miles closely. Practice he did, and in no time, he made an impression with the Clippers' staff.

Clearly, people at the Clippers' helm of affairs think that this lanky, 6 foot 9 inch forward could be an excellent addition to their team, which is struggling because of depth in the forward line. The experience of Miles would also come in handy, especially during pressure situations. But most importantly, Miles better than anyone else knows the importance of maintaining a lid over the opposition. If there is a time with Miles playing for the Clippers, the staff believes that games like the Orlando one would not be repeated at all.

Miles stepping into the Clippers camp just seems to be the news the fans were hoping for. At the end of the day, they just seemed to have enough seeing their team lose after playing so well in the first 3 quarters. It is hoped that Miles would be able to arrest this trend!
