I wanted to fix my credit, and I wanted to do it quickly. No more waiting, no more stress, no more sitting around trying to figure out the best way to change my life and my finances. I wanted to fix my credit, and I didn't want to get anyone else's help to do it. I wanted to finally feel like I've done something for myself and my life, and working to fix my credit was the best way to get myself back on track.
If you're in the same boat that I was, there are a few things that you and need to understand about getting on the appropriate road to fixing your credit. The first thing you should know is that it's not always going to be easy. Because it takes a lot of time to fix your credit and to get yourself on the right track, you should do what I did when I decided to fix my credit-keep a file.

That's right. Keeping a file can make more difference in fixing your credit and boosting your credit score over time than you can possibly imagine. When I first started looking at options for fixing my credit, I was surprised to find out how much paperwork was involved. The first thing I did was get a copy of my credit report from all three credit bureaus, and this ended up being several different sheets of paper to print out and go through line by line. I knew right then that if I wanted to be efficient about learning how to fix my credit, I was going to have to keep a file.
I went to Office Depot and bought a large expanding file folder, and stuck a label on the front that said “fix my credit”. I wanted to be able to look at that folder every day as I was working on fixing my credit, and remind myself what the final goal was. I wanted a credit score of 707, and being able to fix my credit was all about reaching that final goal.

Over time, working to fix my credit involved plenty of patience and organizing my documents in a way that would help me find stuff. I had a section in my file folder for call logs, and it featured calls that I made and received from collections agencies and details of each call. In order to fix my credit, I also had to write tons of letters to credit bureaus and collections agencies, and I kept copies of each letter with notes and dates in another section within my file.
It doesn't matter how you do it-what matters is that you’re detailed and you keep good records. I'm sure glad that I did when I got on the road to figuring out how to fix my credit. Working with collections agents and creditors isn't always easy, but if you're organized it's going to make a big difference for you. At least, it sure did when I decided to fix my credit. Now my credit score across the three bureaus is an average of 709, and I couldn't be happier.
