The floating market is usually meeting at 4 - 5 am, when the sun just rise up around 7 - 8 am, it is time the market start gradually breaking up. From early morning, rural people from all regions near by are rushing ride the boat with full farm productions to markets, In addition with participation of merchant boats making floating market more bustling.

The floating market is also the place gather selling daily life materials, and farming tools such as sampan boat, motor boat, chairs, leaves roofing, knife, the, fishing nest to all kinds of domestic and import commodities. Sampan and motors boat scattering every where from center of river current to little canal you would see here is like a little society, sell every kind of foods from hot ducks flipped, broken rice, fat stock noodles, broken rice, pork noodle, porridge, ducks porridge, hot pepper noodle, coffee ... Currently, emerging on the markets a new services such as petrol stations, repair machines, tailors shops, floating restaurants, taxi boat, floating vendor restaurants ..... Generally as much of goods in land markets as much here in Phong Dien floating markets

After sightseeing, shopping in the market, visitors can ride the boat long the canals up Tra Nieng to a patriotic poet author Phan Van Tri, or chasing the eco of traditional folk song of Can Tho for visiting villages of fruit gardens, mixing with local daily life in warm and hospitable rural people in peace.

Prominent feature of the market is the way of local advertising farm products. Right in front of each boat often plugged tall pole, to hang those goods that employers want to sell. Advertises products pole that is unique feature trade only can be found in floating markets. No hassle and no noise but itself have strange fascinating. It is difference from inland markets; customers only need to look for advertising poles. Merchant boats is not necessary to concentrated in specialize place. Those vendor boat use music to broadcasts typical sound of their selling goods or by using huge manual siren it could be made out of plastic or coppers, people paddling by hands, some others by foots.

Now a day despite the road constructions has developed to remote rural areas of the Mekong Delta, but the floating markets on the river still exist and continue taking place following tide as characteristics features culture of people in rivers region.
